Partially Hydrolyzed Polyacrylamide PHPA

CAS NO.: 9003-05-08
Other name: Partially Hydrolyzed Polyacrylamide, PHPA, Polyacrylamide, PAM

Partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide PHPA is obtained by partial hydrolysis of polyacrylamide. It has good water solubility and carries a large amount of negative charge on the molecular chain. It is mainly used as a high-efficiency fluid loss reducer, viscosity enhancer and protective colloid in shale and fresh water, calcium, sodium brine and mud systems. It has good compatibility with most drilling fluid products, biopolymers, PAC and CMC.

Applications:

1. Drilling fluid additive, which can play the role of thickening, fluid loss reduction and flocculation, reduce the filtration vector of drilling fluid, stabilize the well wall and prevent well collapse.

2. Oil displacement agent. As an oil displacement agent, it can increase the viscosity of injected water, reduce the water-oil mobility ratio, expand the swept volume, and thus improve the recovery rate of crude oil.

3. Profile control agent, which can be used to adjust the water absorption profile of the oil layer, reduce the permeability of the high permeability layer through adsorption, retention and other effects, and improve the overall utilization of the oil layer.

4. High-efficiency drag reducer for fracturing. Polyacrylamide molecular chains can form a network structure in the fluid, increasing the fluidity of the fluid and thus reducing the flow resistance.

Advantages:

1. Temperature stable up to 300°F

2. Excellent cuttings encapsulation to prevent cuttings dispersion

3. Improves the lubricity of most mud systems, particularly non-dispersed muds

4. Non-fermenting and no biocide required

5. Effective at low concentrations
